Two detained regarding the death of Ayşegül Eraslan
Two individuals who spread baseless claims on social media regarding the death of fashion designer and social media influencer Ayşegül Eraslan (27), who was found dead in her home in Kağıthane, have been detained by police teams.
The investigation into the death of 27-year-old famous fashion designer Ayşegül Eraslan, who became known through a television competition she participated in, continues in a multi-faceted manner.
Following the incident, it was determined that misleading information regarding the cause and manner of Eraslan's death was intentionally circulated on some social media platforms.
TWO SUSPECTS APPREHENDED
Taking action on the matter, the Istanbul Police Department's Cyber Crimes Combat teams launched an investigation into the accounts spreading the baseless claims. As a result of technical tracking, the identities of the individuals making the posts containing disinformation were determined.
In an operation, two suspects identified as B.Ö. and S.P. were apprehended and detained. It was learned that the suspects, whose procedures at the police station are ongoing, will be referred to the courthouse on charges of "publicly spreading misleading information" after their statements are taken.
