Two-time PGA Tour winner Grayson Murray passed away on Saturday, one day after withdrawing from the Charles Schwab Challenge.
Successful golfer and two-time PGA Tour winner Grayson Murray has died at the age of 30.
While no details regarding Murray's death have been shared, the golf world has expressed its shock and sorrow over the loss.
PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan stated, "I am at a loss for words. The PGA Tour is a family, and when you lose a member of your family, you are never the same. We mourn Grayson and offer our deepest condolences to his loved ones."
Murray's management agency, GSE Worldwide, confirmed the death, stating, "We will not comment until we learn more details, but our hearts ache for his family, friends, and all who loved him during this difficult time."
Monahan noted that they had spoken with Murray's family, who requested that the golf tournament in Texas continue.
Having struggled with alcohol and mental health issues in the past, Murray had excited his fans with a "comeback" following his successful performance at the Sony Open this year.
Murray had said that he "believed he had not yet played his best golf."
