Unbelievable! Work remotely and earn 400,000 TL while sleeping

"Bensons for Beds," the country's largest mattress retailer with 166 stores in the United Kingdom, has announced that it is looking for a new "Chief Sleep Officer" (CSO) to ensure the British public gets the best sleep possible.

SURVEY RESULTS ANNOUNCED

According to a study conducted by Bensons for Beds, the second week of January is the most popular week for those who want to start the year with a brand-new job. Among those looking for a career change, 38 percent state they are looking for work because they want to earn more, 29 percent because their current roles are too stressful, and nearly a quarter (23 percent) simply want to try a new job.

Half of the participants (50 percent) prefer flexible working hours, while nearly one in three (30 percent) say they would love to be able to work from their bedrooms.

Surprisingly, more than a quarter of the participants (28 percent) admit to dozing off at work; one-third of those who doze off cite their jobs being too boring as the reason, while 24 percent point to the room temperature.

JOB DESCRIPTION FOR "CHIEF SLEEP OFFICER"

According to Bensons HR Manager Carrie Westwell, the selected person will have the chance to test a mattress every two weeks, four pillows a month, and a bed base every six weeks. The position will be "fully remote," and applicants are required to have a university qualification in marketing or social media.

Westwell says, "This is the perfect role for anyone looking to boost their current income or for those who want to get to know the mattress industry before deciding to take a bigger step and change their career."

THE ENTIRE SHIFT WON'T BE SPENT SLEEPING...

Although product testing will be a significant part of this role, one of the key elements of the job is visiting the Bensons factory in Huntingdon. This way, the Chief Sleep Officer will spend time with the innovation team to learn how the mattress and bedding supply chain works. In other words, the entire shift will not be spent sleeping.

The Chief Sleep Officer will also "recognize triggers that contribute to poor sleep and learn good habits that people should adopt to help improve their optimum sleep patterns, in order to develop their knowledge and understanding of sleep." More than 14 hours of this training will be provided 'in bed'.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Candidates who want to apply for this role need to create content explaining why they are the right person for the job. Strong written communication skills are also sought for this.

The company says the role can be carried out alongside a traditional job, noting that one in 10 survey participants stated they "started a side hustle to increase their income" last year.

Selling old clothes on websites or apps is the most popular way to earn extra money for 21 percent of those surveyed. Other sources of side income include pet sitting (5 percent), foot modeling (3 percent), and drawing pets (1 percent).

A typical side job of 10 hours a week earns an average of 229 pounds (approximately 11.5 thousand TL) per month by UK standards, and one in five people plan to start a new venture this year; proofreading, product testing, and data entry are among the popular ones.
