Visa shock for Hande Yener before Fenerbahçe concert
It has been learned that Hande Yener, who was preparing to perform at a gala organized by the Fenerbahçe USA Association in New York, could not travel to the US due to visa issues.
The Fenerbahçe USA Association, which has been operating in New York for 22 years and brings together Fenerbahçe fans in America, hosted a magnificent gala yesterday.
Hande Yener had been announced as the artist who would take the stage at the gala. However, it was announced one day before the event that Yener would not be able to attend due to a visa issue and that Gülşen would perform in her place.
Sabah columnist Funda Karayel brought up the claim that “a group stated that there was no problem with Hande Yener's visa and that she could not take the stage due to a tax crisis.” Karayel continued her article as follows;
“What is behind the scenes of Gülşen taking the stage at the last minute instead of Hande Yener? Is the criterion for deciding whether an artist can perform a visa? A group stated that there was no problem with Hande Yener's visa and that she could not take the stage due to a tax crisis.
To do business in America, you must comply with the procedures. Otherwise, you cannot work. So how do many Turkish artists coming from Turkey perform with a tourist visa? It is a fact that it is not possible to work with a tourist visa, and if there is a complaint or investigation, there will be trouble for them when entering the country again. The same problem was experienced by some artists who had previously shot their music videos here. You shoot a film or a music video in America, but you do not pay any taxes to the country; if this is detected, the US will never, ever grant visas to these individuals. In summary, many artists who stop by America as part of a tour will have tax troubles in the future. It is very normal to investigate the taxes of an officially announced event. Let's see who pays their taxes, we will find out.”
