One of the most impressive natural events of 2025 for sky observers is approaching! The Blood Moon eclipse stands out as one of the rare phenomena that occurs when the Moon enters the Earth's shadow and takes on a crimson color. During this fascinating eclipse, the Moon will mesmerize viewers with a copper-toned glow. So, when will the Blood Moon eclipse occurring in March 2025 take place, and will it be visible from Turkey? Here are the answers to all these questions...
WHEN IS THE BLOOD MOON ECLIPSE?
The Blood Moon eclipse will occur on the night of March 13-14, 2025. In this total lunar eclipse, the Moon will enter the Earth's shadow and turn a crimson color. The eclipse will last for exactly 1 hour and 6 minutes.

WILL THE BLOOD MOON ECLIPSE BE VISIBLE FROM TURKEY?
The eclipse will be best viewed from North and South America, and it will be partially observable in some parts of Western Europe. However, this eclipse will not be directly visible from Turkey.

WHY IS THIS ECLIPSE CALLED 'BLOOD'?
According to NASA, during a Total Lunar Eclipse, the Moon and the Sun align on exactly opposite sides of the Earth. NASA explains, "Even though the Moon is completely in the Earth's shadow, some sunlight reaches the Moon." However, as this light passes through the Earth's atmosphere, most of the blue light is absorbed by the atmosphere, which causes the Moon to take on a reddish color. For this reason, this event is also called a "Blood Moon Eclipse."
