Which party will Seren Serengil join to enter politics? 'For animal rights...'
Seren Serengil has announced that she will enter politics to take a stand against the massacre of dogs and to fight more effectively for animal rights. So, which party will Serengil join? Here are the details...
Following the killing of 30 dogs, 14 cats, and 1 crow by injection at a stray animal rehabilitation center in the Gebze district of Kocaeli, famous actress and presenter Seren Serengil visited the Ümraniye Animal Shelter to express her reaction.
WHICH PARTY WILL SEREN SERENGİL RUN AS A PARLIAMENTARY CANDIDATE FROM?
Announcing that she will be a parliamentary candidate in the next general elections, Serengil stated the following:
"It is my civic duty to use my fame for the benefit of these animals and these living creatures. Unlike some of my friends, I do not have the posture of turning a blind eye or pretending not to hear. Is your conscience at ease? Mine is not. As an artist, let alone everything else, as someone who loves them, is this all my fame is worth?
I will fight for this until the end. I am not going to join anywhere, nor am I a politician; but from now on, I will. Because someone among us has to enter. One of us needs to be there. It was something I hated, but there are people who laughed when this law was passed in Parliament. I am thinking of becoming a candidate, if the public supports me in some way; on their behalf, because we need someone to speak on our behalf as well."
While Serengil did not name a party, it is considered that she could also run as an independent candidate.
