The news of Fethi Heper's passing was met with deep sorrow by the Eskişehirspor community, football fans, and his former teammates. Heper's funeral will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at noon from the Mahmut Sami Ramazanoğlu Mosque. 

WHO IS FETHİ HEPER?

Fethi Heper was born on February 3, 1944, in Eskişehir. Starting his football career at Eskişehir Gençlik Club in 1960, Heper transferred to Eskişehirspor in 1963. Heper, who managed to become the top scorer in the Süper Lig twice, scored 13 goals in the 1969-70 season and 20 goals in the 1971-72 season. Additionally, by scoring 4 goals in the match Eskişehirspor played against Mikkeli in 1971, he broke the record for the most goals scored by a Turkish footballer in a single match in the European arena.

Known by the nickname "Iron Shirt Fethi" (Demir Gömlek Fethi) during his football career, Heper wore the Turkish National Football Team jersey 5 times.

In addition to his football career, Heper also made contributions in the academic field. After graduating from the Eskişehir Academy of Economic and Commercial Sciences in 1967, he completed his doctorate in 1978, receiving the title of associate professor in 1981 and professor in 1988.
