Yolcu Bilginç to distribute 'lokma' in memory of Edip Akbayram! 'All applause for Edip Akbayram'
Baglama artist Yolcu Bilginç will distribute 'lokma' (a traditional fried dough) in the square of Bademler Village on March 9 to commemorate Edip Akbayram, with whom he made music for 27 years. Highlighting Akbayram's personality and respect for the stage, Bilginç said, 'From now on, the applause is for Edip Akbayram.'
Baglama artist Yolcu Bilginç, who has been making music with Edip Akbayram for 27 years and is from the village of Bademler in İzmir, will distribute 'lokma' for Edip Akbayram in his own village, Bademler, tomorrow (March 9) at 16.00.

Regarding the late artist Edip Akbayram, he said, "If I were to tell what I have experienced, it would fill a book; how can I even describe him? He was just as everyone knew him to be..."

Yolcu Bilginç said the following about Edip Akbayram:
"Edip brother was a colleague, a brother, a friend... However everyone knew him, that is who he was. Everyone went up and spoke at the funeral ceremony held at the Cemal Reşit Rey concert hall. Zülfü Livaneli, Ekrem İmamoğlu, his daughter Türkü Akbayram... But there was one speech that gave me goosebumps. And that was: the words of the imam at Teşvikiye Mosque. The imam said about Edip brother, "O congregation, how beautiful, what a clean man you have brought here."
These words revealed Edip brother's personality. He always shared the applause he received on stage with the audience. But now, there is no stage where he can share his applause. That is why all the applause is for Edip Akbayram...
If he had come out of the hospital safe and sound, I had a sacrificial vow, but unfortunately, it did not happen. When I said I wanted to distribute 'lokma', all the NGOs and the people of Bademler village said, 'We would also like to contribute, let's do it all together.' I was very happy. We will hold the 'lokma' charity event in the square of Bademler Village on Sunday, March 9, at 16.00; we are waiting for all those who love Edip Akbayram."

Furthermore, stating that a play will be performed in Bademler village on March 27, World Theatre Day, Bilginç expressed that they will hold a memorial ceremony on the same day by lighting candles at the base of a tree planted by Edip Akbayram.
