Young pianist Can Saraç to perform with the Mariinsky Orchestra in Russia

16-year-old pianist Can Saraç, who continues his piano education in Turkey and Germany, will take the stage at the Mariinsky Theatre in St. Petersburg with the Mariinsky Orchestra under the baton of Can Deliorman.

The concert program will also feature Ferit Tüzün's Turkish Capriccio and Beethoven's 7th Symphony, performed by the Mariinsky Orchestra under the direction of maestro Cemi’i Can Deliorman.

Saraç, who will perform L. van Beethoven's Piano Concerto No. 2 as a soloist, recently made headlines after winning the 'Michelangeli Prize' at the Piano Academy Eppan in Italy.

CONTINUING HIS EDUCATION IN GERMANY

In 2022, Saraç gave solo concerts as part of the Pianissimo Live series at the historic Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg—also known as Russia's northern capital—and at the GES-2 Museum in Moscow. He is currently continuing his education at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich in Germany under Prof. Michael Schäfer.

In Turkey, Can continues his studies with Prof. Gökhan Aybulus. Last year, he became the first Turkish pianist to participate as a 'Festival Artist' in The Cliburn Junior, which is held every four years in Texas, USA, and is considered one of the most prestigious organizations in the world.
