Zeki Müren commemorated in Bodrum on the 28th anniversary of his passing
Zeki Müren, one of the unforgettable names of Turkish Classical Music, was commemorated on the 28th anniversary of his death at his home in Bodrum, Muğla, where he spent his final years and which was converted into a museum after his passing.
At the mawlid program held for Zeki Müren, known as the "Sun of Art" who donated his entire estate to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK) Mehmetçik Foundation and the Turkish Education Foundation (TEV), Turkish delight and lokma were served to the attendees.
Citizens who visited the artist's two-story house, which now serves as a museum, examined his personal belongings and took souvenir photos.
The event was attended by numerous people, including Bodrum District Governor Mustafa Çit and his wife Yasemin Çit, Bodrum Municipality Coordinator, TSK Mehmetçik Foundation General Manager İsmail Şanlı, and TEV Board Chairman Mehmet Şükrü Tekbaş.
As part of the commemoration event organized with the contributions of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the Bodrum District Governorship, and the Bodrum Municipality, a concert will be held this evening at the Bodrum Antique Theatre.
