1 police officer loses life in 'marriage proposal' dispute
In Ankara's Etimesgut district, a police officer was shot and killed during a fight that broke out while he was attending a meeting to ask for a woman's hand in marriage on behalf of a relative. It was learned that the police officer was off-duty on the day of the incident.
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred around 23:00 at Sultan Sencer Park in the Ahi Mesut neighborhood of Etimesgut district.
It was learned that the police officer, F.K., who was off-duty on the day of the incident, and his accompanying relatives met with the bride's side at the park to plan the marriage proposal for F.K.'s cousin.
A disagreement between the parties turned into a fight.
During the fight, police officer F.K. was shot and critically wounded.
F.K., who was taken to the hospital, could not be saved despite all interventions and lost his life. It was learned that the investigation into the incident is ongoing.
