According to the information received, 13-year-old M.Y., who lives in the Kepekler neighborhood of the district, began playing with a handgun belonging to his father.

The bullet from the gun, which went off accidentally, struck M.Y.'s sister, H.Y. (17).

Despite the intervention of medical teams who arrived at the scene, H.Y., who was wounded in the abdominal area, could not be saved.

H.Y.'s body was taken to the morgue of Susurluk State Hospital.

M.Y., who caused his sister's death, was taken to the district gendarmerie command to have his statement taken in the presence of social workers.

It was learned that M.Y. and H.Y.'s family had come to Balıkesir from Şanlıurfa as agricultural workers.
