14-year-old takes the wheel in Kilis: 1 dead, 2 injured
In the Ekrem Çetin neighborhood of Kilis, on Prof. Haluk Timurtaş Street, a 14-year-old driver lost control of the vehicle. The driver, who struck three people standing on the sidewalk, has been taken into custody. One person died and two were injured following the incident.
On Prof. Haluk Timurtaş Street in the Ekrem Çetin neighborhood of Kilis, a light commercial vehicle with license plate 79 AAS 993, driven by H.İ.Ö. (14), struck C.H.E. (37), F.H.E. (5), and Ramadan Şerif (63) on the sidewalk after the driver lost control of the steering wheel.
FLED THE SCENE
Upon notification by witnesses of the accident, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. While medical teams determined that Ramadan Şerif had lost his life, the two injured individuals were taken to the hospital. H.İ.Ö., who fled the scene after the accident, was apprehended by the teams and taken into custody.
It was learned that the condition of one of the injured, C.H.E., is critical, and an investigation into the incident has been launched.
