A 16-year-old who stole weapons and ammunition from a shooting range in Kahramanmaraş has been sentenced to 5 years and 10 months in prison and a 30,000 TL judicial fine in the case brought against him.

On September 10, 2025, in the Dulkadiroğlu district, H.E. (16) broke into a shooting range by prying open the back door with a crowbar. H.E. took 2 pistols and approximately 300 rounds of ammunition from a glass display case and fled the scene.

Following a search operation that included Special Operations police, drone support, and tracking dogs, H.E. was apprehended 3 days later along with the stolen weapons and ammunition.

In his statement to the prosecutor's office, the suspect claimed that he was having problems with his family, wanted to go to his father, and had taken the weapons to protect himself. Stating that he knew the shooting range door was easy to open and that there were weapons inside, H.E. was arrested by the court and sent to prison.

The case filed against H.E. was heard at the Kahramanmaraş Juvenile High Criminal Court. In the final hearing, the defendant stated that he was remorseful and requested his acquittal.

The court sentenced the defendant to 5 years and 10 months in prison for the crime of "theft" and a 30,000 TL judicial fine for the crime of "violation of workplace immunity," and ruled that his detention should continue.
