2 lawyers detained in bribery investigation
Two lawyers determined to have connections with courthouse employees arrested in a "bribery" investigation in Iğdır have been detained.
Two courthouse employees, who were detained as part of an operation conducted by the Iğdır Provincial Police Department in May, had been arrested on charges of "bribery," "extortion," and "obtaining benefits for a job for which one is not authorized."
The Iğdır Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, which is conducting the investigation, determined that the arrested courthouse employees were in contact with two lawyers registered with the Iğdır Bar Association.
Following this, with the permission of the Ministry of Justice, lawyers G.A. and R.Ş. were detained. A large number of digital materials were seized during searches conducted at the suspects' addresses. The investigation is continuing in a multi-faceted manner.
