3 billion lira scam via fake bungalow listings

As part of an investigation conducted by the Kahramanmaraş Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, a large-scale operation was launched against a fraud network operating through information systems. Under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, teams from the Kahramanmaraş Provincial Police Department's Cyber Crimes Branch determined that the suspects were defrauding citizens by creating fake bungalow listings on social media platforms.

Examinations revealed that the accounts belonging to the suspects had a transaction volume of approximately 3 billion TL. Within the scope of the investigation, simultaneous operations were carried out at 26 addresses belonging to a total of 28 suspects in Kahramanmaraş, as well as in Antalya, Balıkesir, Bitlis, Bursa, Diyarbakır, Edirne, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Hatay, İzmir, Mersin, Şanlıurfa, and Şırnak.

LARGE QUANTITY OF ITEMS SEIZED

During searches conducted at the suspects' addresses, 29 mobile phones, 21 SIM cards, 1 flash drive, and 1 SSD storage device were seized. As a result of the operations, 21 suspects were apprehended and taken into custody. While 17 of the detained suspects were brought to Kahramanmaraş, it was learned that the proceedings for the other 4 suspects in custody and 5 suspects already in prison would be conducted via SEGBİS (Audio and Video Information System).

Meanwhile, it was reported that efforts are ongoing to apprehend 2 suspects who remain at large.
