590 million TL worth of smuggled gold and foreign currency seized
Gold and foreign currency worth millions of liras were seized in a vehicle stopped on suspicion in Cizre; judicial proceedings have been initiated against 3 individuals.
According to information shared by the General Directorate of Security, a vehicle suspected of suspicious activity was stopped in the Cizre district as part of efforts to combat smuggling, coordinated by the Şırnak Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) and Intelligence Branch Directorates, under the supervision of the Cizre Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
Searches conducted in the vehicle resulted in the seizure of smuggled gold and foreign currency with a market value of approximately 590 million TL.
During the operation, 30 one-kilogram gold bars, 85 kilograms and 939.5 grams of gold (in 66 pieces), 90 thousand 600 Dollars, and 7 thousand 470 Euros were seized. Judicial proceedings have been initiated against 3 suspects within the scope of the operation.
