6-month-old fetus found in vacant lot

The incident occurred in the evening hours in the Güneştepe neighborhood of Güngören, Istanbul. According to allegations, a dead fetus was found hidden among stones by children playing in a vacant lot on the street.

After the children informed their families of the situation, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene upon reports from citizens. Following investigations by the teams, it was determined that a 6-month-pregnant woman had induced a miscarriage by taking medication and that the dead fetus had been left on the land.

Following the incident, the woman, whose identity was determined, and the individual believed to be the father of the child were taken into custody by police teams. After the teams completed their work, the fetus found in the lot was sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue.
