75-year-old husband arrested for shooting his 51-year-old wife with a handgun

The incident occurred last night around 9:00 PM at a house located on 3000th Street in the Kurtuluş neighborhood. According to the information obtained, an argument broke out between N.D. (75) and his wife, Ş.D. (51), over a domestic issue. As the argument escalated, N.D., unable to control his temper, fired one shot at his wife with a handgun he had in the house. 

The woman, who was wounded in the arm, collapsed to the ground covered in blood, while neighbors who heard the gunshot reported the situation to the 112 Emergency Call Center. Upon the report, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. While medical teams transported the injured woman to Aksaray Training and Research Hospital by ambulance, it was learned that the woman's health condition is good.

Following the incident, teams from the Provincial Police Department's Public Security Branch, Murder Bureau, apprehended N.D. along with the handgun used in the crime and took him into custody. The man, who was referred to the courthouse today after his procedures at the police station, was arrested by the judicial authorities and sent to prison. When asked by members of the press upon leaving the courthouse, "Your wife could have died, are you regretful?", N.D. replied, "I could have died too," before being sent to prison in a police vehicle.

The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
