Allegation that female staff member assaulted 10-year-old student at school
In Istanbul's Küçükçekmece district, a middle school student picked up a Turkish flag he saw on the floor and placed it on a window ledge. It is alleged that when the flag fell due to the wind, a female staff member assaulted the student.
The incident took place yesterday at Kadriye Moroğlu Middle School in Küçükçekmece. According to the allegations, 10-year-old middle school student M.E.D. picked up a Turkish flag he saw on the classroom floor and placed it in front of the window. The Turkish flag fell from the window due to the wind. A female staff member, D.B., who entered the classroom, allegedly grabbed the student by the throat and assaulted him. While M.E.D. was too afraid to talk about the incident, his family, who learned of the situation from other children, obtained a medical report for assault from a hospital and filed a criminal complaint against the staff member.
"The staff member came and pushed me toward the floor by grabbing my throat"
The student, M.E.D., said, "I saw a flag on the floor inside the classroom. Then I picked up the flag and put it on the window. No one was showing respect; they were stepping on it. The flag fell from the window. The staff member came and pushed me toward the floor by grabbing my throat. I was scared because the staff member beat me, so I didn't tell anyone about the incident."
"We have filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office"
The student's father, Saruhan D., stated, "Two children came yesterday and said, 'A staff member assaulted your child at school.' The child came to me, and I saw that his throat was bruised. I couldn't stand it, so I took him to the hospital, got an assault report, and filed a criminal complaint with the prosecutor's office."
