Allegation that mother buried her baby under a bridge

The incident occurred in the rural Sarılar neighborhood of the Tire district. According to the allegations, a 34-year-old woman named Hatice D. placed her baby, whom she had given birth to out of wedlock, into a sack and buried it under a bridge. After Hatice D.'s mother went to the gendarmerie and confessed to the incident, action was taken, and Hatice D. and her family members were detained under the instructions of the prosecutor's office, while search operations in the area with a gendarmerie dog are ongoing.

BODY NOT YET LOCATED

During the initial searches in the area, an umbilical cord belonging to the baby was found at the location where it was alleged to have been buried. However, the baby's body has not yet been reached. Gendarmerie teams are continuing search operations around the bridge with specially trained dogs.

MOTHER AND FAMILY IN CUSTODY

Following the incident, Hatice D., along with her mother, father, and some relatives, were taken into custody. It was learned that the statements of the suspects in custody are continuing to be taken.

It was revealed that H.D. had also given birth inside her shalwar at the Tire Friday Market in 2019 and subsequently left the baby under a stall. The baby, who was taken to the hospital upon the notification of citizens who heard crying sounds, could not be saved despite all interventions.

While the investigation initiated under the instructions of the Tire Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is being conducted meticulously, the efforts of the gendarmerie teams to find the baby continue.
