An inmate set their bed on fire in Çorum!
In a fire that broke out after an inmate set their bed on fire for unknown reasons in Çorum, 12 people, including 9 inmates, were treated for smoke inhalation.
The incident occurred at the Çorum L-Type Closed Prison. According to the information obtained, an inmate held at the prison set their bed in the ward on fire for an unknown reason.
While the situation was brought under control with the intervention of the gendarmerie and correctional officers, 9 inmates and 3 correctional officers affected by the smoke were taken to the Hitit University Erol Olçok Training and Research Hospital for treatment.

Upon being notified of the incident, Çorum Provincial Gendarmerie Commander Senior Colonel Naim Çetinkaya went to the prison and received information about the injured and the incident.
It was learned that the 12 people taken to the hospital due to carbon monoxide poisoning are in good condition.
