Apartment pest control leads to poisoning
In Konya, 11 residents of an apartment building were poisoned following pest control spraying conducted on the first floor.
The incident occurred during the night at an apartment building located on Hanedan Street in the Gödene neighborhood of the central Meram district. According to the information obtained, residents noticed the smell of chemicals following the pest control application in the building and realized they were experiencing symptoms of poisoning. Upon notification, health, fire department, AFAD, and police teams were dispatched to the address. The 11 individuals showing symptoms of poisoning were taken to Konya City Hospital by ambulance for treatment, and the apartment building was evacuated. It was learned that the health status of the citizens receiving treatment at the hospital is good.
Building staff member Fatih Uzman said, "Those who want to have their apartments sprayed should be more careful. Precaution is always important."
Abdülkadir Kılıç stated, "The person living on the ground floor called a pest control company. It spread throughout the entire apartment building. Several people were taken to the hospital; they are in good condition."
An investigation into the incident has been initiated.
