Armed altercation between father and his police sons: 1 police officer dead
In Isparta, a police officer lost his life and his father was critically injured during an argument between two police officers, who had returned to their hometown for the holiday break, and their father.
Police and medical teams were dispatched to the area following reports of shots fired into the air in front of a grocery store on 4445 Street.
Medical teams transported the father, M.A., who was found with a neck injury, and his police officer son, D.A., to the Süleyman Demirel University Faculty of Medicine Hospital after initial intervention.
FATHER REMAINS IN CRITICAL CONDITION
Despite medical intervention, police officer D.A. could not be saved. It was learned that the father, M.A., remains in critical condition. The other police officer, Ö.A., was taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
It was learned that an argument that began at home between the father and his sons—police officer Ö.A., who serves at the Antalya Traffic Branch Directorate, and police officer D.A., who serves at the Denizli Provincial Security Directorate Riot Police Branch—continued inside a vehicle, where weapons were used.
Two handguns, empty shell casings, and live ammunition were seized at the scene.
