A new incident has been added to the armed attacks against the municipality in the Çiğli district of İzmir. Following the attack on Çiğli Mayor Onur Emrah Yıldız's official vehicle, this time the municipality's Aquarium Facilities in Ataşehir were targeted.
It was stated that two individuals who arrived at the facility on a motorcycle during the night hours opened fire on the doors and the facility buildings. Police teams dispatched to the area after the incident have launched an investigation.
Initial findings revealed 5 bullet holes on the building and doors. It was noted that the moment of the attack was captured on security cameras, and the footage shows the suspects fleeing the scene on the motorcycle they arrived on after opening fire.
Security measures have been increased in the district following the attack on the municipal facilities.
