Armed attack on wife and sister-in-law during divorce proceedings in Adana
In Ceyhan, it is alleged that Yusuf A. opened fire with a handgun on his wife, Asya A., who is in the process of divorcing him, and his sister-in-law, Medine G., before fleeing the scene.
An armed attack was carried out against a woman and her sister in the Ceyhan district of Adana while the woman was in the process of divorcing her husband. The incident occurred around noon on Orhan Ekinci Boulevard in the Küçükkırım neighborhood.
According to allegations, 32-year-old Yusuf A. approached his 25-year-old wife, Asya A., the mother of his 3 children, and opened fire with a handgun in the middle of the street. Asya A., who was struck by bullets in various parts of her body, collapsed to the ground covered in blood.
Following the attack, it is reported that Yusuf A. went to the front of the house where his wife's family lives, about 100 meters away, and opened fire on his sister-in-law, 16-year-old Medine G., whom he encountered there. The suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle after the two attacks.
Upon notification by bystanders, health and police teams were dispatched to the area. Asya A. and Medine G., who received initial medical intervention at the scene, were taken to Ceyhan State Hospital by ambulance.
Following treatment at the hospital, Asya A. was transferred to Adana City Training and Research Hospital. It was learned that both sisters are in critical condition.
Police teams have launched an operation to apprehend Yusuf A., who fled on a motorcycle. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
