An argument between two people in Esenler, Istanbul, turned into an armed brawl in the middle of the street. In the incident, M.B. and A.Ç. wounded each other with firearms.
The incident occurred on October 9 on Atışalanı Street in the Fevzi Çakmak neighborhood. It was reported that as the argument escalated, the parties opened fire on each other, and both individuals were injured and taken to the hospital.
During the investigation conducted by police teams at the scene, it was determined that a bullet had struck the window of a business and 4 empty shell casings were found in the vicinity. Teams from the Esenler District Police Department also examined security camera footage from a nearby business.
As a result of the footage and the investigation, it was determined that M.B. and A.Ç. had wounded each other by firing back and forth. It was stated that on the night of the incident, M.B.'s friend N.G. had been threatened by A.Ç., and the argument that broke out between M.B. and A.Ç. after M.B. learned of this situation turned into an armed brawl.
M.B., one of the injured whose injuries were reported not to be life-threatening, was discharged after treatment and taken into custody by the police. M.B., who was referred to the courthouse on charges of "attempted intentional homicide," was released by the court under judicial control conditions.
It was learned that legal proceedings will be initiated against A.Ç., whose treatment at the hospital is ongoing, for the same crime once he is discharged.
