Armed Unmanned Surface Vehicle alarm off the coast of Hopa
A report of an unmanned surface vehicle spotted at sea off the coast of the Hopa district in Artvin has put teams on high alert.
According to the information obtained, a report was received in the evening hours stating that an unmanned surface vehicle was located off the coast between Hopa Port and the Esenkıyı area.
Following the report, Coast Guard teams were dispatched to the region, and security measures were increased after it was assessed that the vehicle was close to the shore.
For security reasons, the international highway between Kemalpaşa and Hopa was closed to traffic in both directions. The teams' operations in the region are ongoing.
The nature of the unmanned surface vehicle, where it originated from, and the outcome of the security operations in the region will become clear following the investigations to be conducted.
