Ate cherries from a sprayed tree, lost his life
In the Tosya district of Kastamonu, a person who fell ill and was hospitalized after eating cherries picked from a tree that had been sprayed with pesticide has passed away.
The incident occurred in the village of Karabey in the Tosya district. According to the information obtained, Ahmet Derin and his wife, Rahime Derin, fell ill a short time after eating cherries they had picked from a tree on Wednesday, July 1.
The couple, who were taken to Tosya State Hospital by medical teams arriving at the scene following a report from their relatives, were transferred to Kastamonu Training and Research Hospital after initial intervention.
Ahmet Derin, who was taken under treatment, could not be saved despite all the doctors' interventions and lost his life.
It was learned that his wife, Rahime Derin, continues to receive treatment in the intensive care unit.
It was learned that the tree from which the couple picked the cherries had been sprayed with agricultural pesticide approximately 15 days ago.
It is being evaluated that the couple may have been poisoned due to the cherries they picked from the sprayed tree.
