In Kilis, it was discovered that a grocery store, which had previously been sealed and had its operations suspended by municipal teams, had been reopened after the seal was broken. During an inspection conducted by the Kilis Municipality police teams, it was determined that some of the products offered for sale had expired.
Kilis Deputy Mayor Cihan Çağlar Yaşar also participated in the inspection. During the checks carried out by the teams at the workplace, it was determined that 10 out of 20 products on the shelves were expired.
One of the most striking findings during the examination concerned baby biscuits. It was alleged that the dates on some expired baby biscuits had been altered by hand. The store owner, however, did not accept the allegation in question.
Municipal teams also recorded that the workplace had been put back into operation without obtaining the necessary permits, despite having been previously sealed. No official details were shared regarding the specifics of the administrative and legal actions to be taken concerning the incident.
In a statement made by the Kilis Municipality, it was stated that inspections are being continued to protect public health and ensure that citizens have access to reliable food. The statement emphasized that legal actions against practices that threaten public health will be applied without compromise and that checks will continue uninterrupted.
