Beach overflows: Over 3,000 people rush to the sea
Those taking advantage of the hot weather in Zonguldak flocked to Kapuz Beach; the number of visitors exceeded 3,000, and the parking lot reached capacity.
In Zonguldak, Kapuz Beach became the destination for those wanting to spend the weekend by the sea. Due to the effect of temperatures above seasonal norms, the city's blue-flag beach experienced heavy crowds from the early hours of the day.
The number of visitors to the 180-meter-long and 25-meter-wide beach exceeded 3,000 throughout the day. While it became difficult to find sun loungers and umbrellas on the sand, some vacationers swam in the cool waters of the Black Sea, while others preferred to sunbathe or have picnics in the wooded areas.
The density was not limited to the beach alone. With the facility's parking lot full, drivers arriving at the beach parked their vehicles along the roadside. It was stated that the line of vehicles stretching along the road reached approximately 1 kilometer.
Those interested in water sports also joined the activity at the beach. Some citizens spent time on the water by canoeing and using SUP (stand up paddle) boards.
Burhan Biliktü, 34, who came to Zonguldak from Adana to work at the Filyos Port construction site, said he spent his Sunday off at the beach with his friends. Stating that swimming after the work pace was refreshing, Biliktü noted that the Black Sea is colder than the Mediterranean, but it gave him vitality.
DENSITY MEASURES AT THE FACILITY
Kapuz Beach Facility Manager Ahmet Yazıcı stated that there has been a significant increase in the number of visitors with the opening of the summer season. Yazıcı noted that even on weekdays, a situation similar to the weekend density occurs, with an average of 2,000-3,000 people hosted on weekends, and that this number has exceeded the 3,000 mark on some days.

Yazıcı said that professional lifeguard services continue at the facility and that teams are working in the field to ensure citizens do not face any grievances in the food, beverage, and rest areas. Stating that seawater measurements are carried out in accordance with Ministry of Health standards, Yazıcı expressed that cleaning and pest control operations are carried out regularly at the cove-structured beach.
