Black wreath protest in front of TÜVTÜRK
The incident in which police officer Melih Okan Keskin lost his life in an attack at a TÜVTÜRK vehicle inspection station in Ankara was condemned in Balıkesir with a black wreath left in front of the local TÜVTÜRK station.
Members of the Balıkesir Provincial Presidency of the Foundation for Disabled Veterans and Families of Martyrs of the Police Organization (EMŞAV), the Balıkesir Retired Special Operations Officers Association, and the Balıkesir Retired Police Personnel Association (BALEMDAR) protested the incident by leaving a black wreath in front of the TÜVTÜRK vehicle inspection station.
In the statement made, it was emphasized that deterrent measures must be taken to ensure such heinous incidents do not occur again, and a demand was made for regulations to allow police personnel to carry out vehicle inspection procedures at stations belonging to the police and gendarmerie organizations.
The statement, which called for the perpetrators of the incident to be punished in the harshest possible way, said, "We wish God's mercy upon our late police officer, and patience and condolences to his family, relatives, and our police organization."
