Blood spilled in 'why did you look at my wife' fight in Zonguldak: 1 dead, 1 injured

A knife fight in the Kozlu district of Zonguldak has resulted in death. The incident occurred in front of a liquor store located on Veysel Atasoy Street in the Merkez neighborhood.

According to allegations, while Murat Yangun (28) was waiting in front of the shop with his wife, he reacted to Cem Ç. (51), whom he claimed he was uncomfortable with due to his gaze, by asking, "Why did you look at my wife?" The argument that started between the parties following these words quickly escalated into a fight.

During the scuffle, it was alleged that Murat Yangun was stabbed in various parts of his body by the suspect. The liquor store owner, H.G., who tried to break up the fight, was also injured in the arm. Upon the notification of citizens in the vicinity, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene.

It was learned that the seriously injured Murat Yangun went to Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University Hospital by his own means. Yangun, who was intubated due to a collapsed lung, could not be saved despite all interventions by doctors. H.G., who was injured in the same incident, was taken to the hospital by ambulance and placed under treatment. It was reported that H.G.'s health condition is good.

Within the scope of the investigation launched after the incident, the suspect Cem Ç. was caught and taken into custody by police teams in a short time. The suspect, who gave his statement at the police station, claimed that contrary to the allegations, he did not look at Yangun's wife, but that he stabbed Yangun after Yangun punched him. Cem Ç., who was learned to have 8 separate criminal records, also admitted that he injured the liquor store owner in the knife fight.

The suspect, whose procedures were completed, was referred to the Zonguldak Courthouse, and it was learned that the process at the courthouse is ongoing.

On the other hand, it was stated that Murat Yangun was married in August, and the death of Yangun, who lost his life at a young age, plunged his family and close circle into mourning.
