'Boss torture': They pulled his teeth with pliers and forced him to eat insects

22-year-old Vedat Kurt, who lived in the Suruç district of Şanlıurfa, went to Antalya in 2020 and started working at an auto body shop.

Allegedly, the business owner paid Kurt, who worked for about 10 months, less than his due every month.

Kurt, who asked for his money, thought he was being stalled every time he heard the promise, 'We will make the payment.'

One morning, Kurt went to work, took 15 thousand liras from the workplace without the boss's knowledge, and went to Istanbul.

THEY REACHED HIS FAMILY AND DEMANDED THE MONEY

Unable to reach Vedat Kurt, the business owner contacted his family and demanded the money. His family called Vedat Kurt and explained the situation. Fearing that something might happen to his family, Kurt returned to Antalya and repaid the 15 thousand liras he had taken.

THEY TORTURED HIM

Allegedly, Kurt was later locked in a warehouse by Ahmet T., Osman T., Serkan T., and Adem A. and tied to a chair. Kurt, who was subjected to countless acts of torture for two days, had his teeth pulled out with pliers.

Kurt, who had bruises on his body due to the beatings, was forced to eat cockroaches. The suspects recorded all the torture they inflicted on a mobile phone.

HE OBTAINED THE IMAGES ON THE PHONE

After being tortured for two days, Vedat Kurt's wounds were allowed to heal so that he would not file a complaint. Living locked in the warehouse, Kurt tried to regain the individuals' trust.

Continuing to work at the workplace, Kurt secretly transferred the images from the suspects' mobile phone to his own.

Kurt went to the prosecutor's office and filed a complaint against the other party. In its examination of the suspects' mobile phone, the prosecutor's office found photos of the torture.

HE IS BEING THREATENED

Stating that he started receiving threats after filing the complaint, Vedat Kurt wakes up to the same nightmare every day. Fearing that he might experience the same pain again one day, Kurt asked the authorities for help. Stating that the business owners never paid his accumulated wages, Vedat Kurt said that one morning when he went to work, he saw some money on the table, took it, and went to Istanbul. Stating that the individuals called his family and threatened them before he could send the money to his family, Kurt stated that he returned to Antalya with the money because he was afraid.

"I WAS SUBJECTED TO VERY BAD TREATMENT"

Saying that he was subjected to all kinds of torture even though he handed the money over to them, Kurt said, “They were paying my monthly salary in bits and pieces. How were they paying it in bits and pieces? By giving 100-200 TL a week. After eight months, I had quite a bit of money accumulated inside, about 60-70 thousand liras.

When I went to ask for my money, they constantly stalled me. When I went the next day, I took the 15 thousand 400 TL, which I later counted and learned the amount of, from the table to send to my family. I already went to Istanbul to work. Before I could send the money to my family, they reached my family and threatened them.

Fearing that something would happen to my family, I returned to Antalya. Even though I handed the money over to them, they subjected me to various tortures. I was subjected to very bad treatment. First, they broke my tooth with pliers while putting insects in my mouth. Then they collected dirty insects and forced me to eat them. They even applied electricity to my fingertips,” he said.

"THEY HEALED MY WOUNDS AND RELEASED ME"

Stating that he could not find any communication tool to reach the police or gendarmerie, Kurt said, "They used ointment to heal my wounds. They were hitting my head with sticks. They let my wounds heal completely so that I wouldn't get a medical report for the beating, and then they released me,” he said.
