Environmental pollution fine for Bozcaada Municipality
The Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change announced that an administrative fine of 1 million 161 thousand liras has been imposed on Bozcaada Municipality for causing environmental pollution and that a judicial process has been initiated.
The statement made by the Ministry included the following remarks:
"Following the determination that wastewater was being discharged into the sea due to the insufficient capacity of the pumps at the Bozcaada Municipality's pumping station, our Provincial Directorate teams intervened in the situation, and the discharge of wastewater into the sea has been completely stopped.
An administrative fine of 1 million 161 thousand liras has been imposed on Bozcaada Municipality for causing environmental pollution, and a judicial process has been initiated."
