In an accident that occurred in the Nusaybin district of Mardin, 6 people from the same family lost their lives when their car fell into a water canal by the side of the road. It was stated that 4 of those who lost their lives were children.
The accident took place in the afternoon near the rural Tepealtı neighborhood on the Nusaybin-Cizre road. The car with license plate 47 ADZ 606, whose driver's identity has not yet been determined, lost control and fell into the water canal by the road.
Upon notification, health, fire, and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the area. During the teams' examination at the scene, it was determined that Zana Öztürk (5), Mert Öztürk (5), Mehmet Şirin Öztürk (11), and Lavin Öztürk (9), who were trapped in the vehicle, had lost their lives.
Fikriye Öztürk (30) and Gülcan Öztürk (28), who were injured in the accident, were taken to Nusaybin State Hospital by ambulance after initial intervention. Despite the doctors' efforts, the two women could not be saved.
The bodies of the 6 people who lost their lives were taken to the hospital morgue for autopsy. An investigation into the accident has been launched.
