Carbon monoxide poisoning at coal mine: 7 workers hospitalized
Seven workers affected by carbon monoxide gas at a privately owned coal mine in the Gökler town of Gediz district, Kütahya, have been taken under treatment.
According to the information obtained, during underground work, due to a gas buildup, workers Mustafa K. (50), Mehmet E., Mehmet T., Mustafa E., Muhammet K., Kader S., and Cemalettin B. were poisoned. Some of the workersthe oxygenated part of themoved to the area and saved themselvesbut it was learned that Mustafa K. (50) couldnotmake the exit it waslearned.
The workers were removed from the mine by teams who noticed the situation The 7 workerswho were extractedwere taken by ambulance to Gediz State Hospitaland placed under treatment.
An investigation into the incident has been launched.
