Cars collide on bridge and fly into garden
Two cars that collided and lost control on the highway bridge on the D-650 highway in the Arifiye district of Sakarya crashed through the barriers and flew from a retaining wall approximately 3 meters high into the garden of a business. In the accident, where the vehicles were reduced to scrap, 1 person lost their life and 4 people were injured.
The accident occurred in the direction of Bilecik on the Arifiye section of the D-650 highway. According to the information obtained, the car with license plate 34 FUR 552 driven by Uğur K. (35) and the vehicle with license plate 54 TN 020 driven by Ahmet Y.T. (39) collided on the highway bridge. The vehicles, sent spinning by the impact, broke through the barriers and flew from a retaining wall approximately 3 meters high into the garden of a business.
Upon the notification of those nearby, health, police, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the region. The 5 people identified as Hünkar Varlı (51), Ahmet Y.T., Ş.K. (39), E.V. (57), and A.E.A. (40) were injured and reached by the health teams. The injured were transported to various hospitals by health teams. Hünkar Varlı lost his life in the hospital to which he was taken in critical condition.
An investigation has been initiated regarding the matter.
