Chain-reaction accident on the TEM: 8 vehicles involved
Eight people were injured in a chain-reaction accident involving 8 vehicles, including a semi-truck, a minibus, and cars, on the Kocaeli section of the TEM Highway. The accident caused long traffic queues in the direction of Istanbul.
According to the information obtained, 8 vehicles, including a semi-truck, a minibus, and cars, were involved in a chain-reaction accident in the Korutepe Tunnel on the Istanbul-bound section of the highway in İzmit.
8 people were injured in the accident. Upon notification to the 112 Emergency Call Center, health, gendarmerie, and fire brigade teams were dispatched to the scene. The injured were taken to the hospital after receiving initial medical intervention.
Due to the accident, long vehicle queues formed on the Istanbul-bound side of the highway. Traffic, which was provided in a controlled manner for a while, returned to normal after the vehicles were removed from the road.
An investigation into the accident has been initiated.
