CHP deputy, as old as the Republic, passes away
Dr. İsmail Ertan, the 12th Term Deputy for Denizli, has passed away at the age of 101. Ertan, who died due to age-related causes, will be laid to rest tomorrow in Tavas.
Dr. İsmail Ertan, the 12th Term Denizli Deputy, who was born in the Tavas district in 1923 and was the son of Dr. Ziya Bey, who fought in the Gallipoli Campaign alongside the founder of the Republic of Turkey, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, has passed away. Ertan, who died at the age of 101 due to age-related ailments, will be laid to rest in Tavas on Friday, August 9, following Friday prayers.

The passing of Dr. İsmail Ertan, who served as a Republican People's Party (CHP) Deputy for Denizli between 1961 and 1965, has caused deep sorrow in the political community, especially within the CHP.
