Closed for the Gezi anniversary: Have the metro lines in Istanbul reopened?

In Istanbul, the metro and funicular lines that were closed yesterday as part of security measures taken for the 12th anniversary of the Gezi Resistance have reopened today.

REOPENED FOR SERVICE

Metro Istanbul announced on social media that the Taksim and Şişhane stations of the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro line and the F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular line have resumed service.

In a statement made by the Istanbul Governor's Office yesterday, it was noted that the İstiklal Avenue entrances to the Taksim and Şişhane stations of the M2 line, as well as the F1 funicular line, were closed due to demonstrations. As of today, these lines are continuing their normal operations.
