Three unidentified individuals opened fire on a coffeehouse in Avcılar using long-barreled weapons and pistols. Four people were injured in the incident, one of them critically.
The incident occurred around 17:00 at a coffeehouse in the Ambarlı neighborhood of Avcılar. According to information obtained, 3 unidentified individuals arrived in a white vehicle and opened fire on a coffeehouse on the street with long-barreled weapons and pistols.
Four people were injured in the attack, one of them critically. Following the attack, the 3 suspects fled the scene in the vehicle they arrived in. Upon notification, police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene. While the police took security measures in the surrounding area, medical teams intervened to treat the injured.
Two people who were injured in the arm were treated on-site, while the other 2 injured individuals were taken to the hospital. It was learned that the victim who was shot in the abdomen is in critical condition. Police teams from the Avcılar Police Department, who conducted an investigation at the scene, have launched a large-scale operation to apprehend the attackers.
INVESTIGATION INTO THE INCIDENT CONTINUES
Describing the incident, eyewitness Naci Bulut, who was in the coffeehouse at the time, said, “They came and fired 6 shots. Then 1 person was wounded in the abdomen, 1 in the leg, and 2 others in the arm. This is a coffeehouse that has been here for years; it is not a place where something like this would happen. I was there. If it had hit me, I would have been torn to pieces. We have been coming here for 25 years, and nothing like this had ever happened before.”
