Collapsed concrete pump arm leads to tragedy
The arm of a concrete pump collapsed and struck worker Bekir Can Kadaş. The impact caused the worker to lose his balance and fall into the concrete formwork.
A tragic workplace accident occurred today around 12:00 PM at a factory under construction in the Organized Industrial Zone in the Ahmet Turan Gazi neighborhood of Sivas. While formwork operations were underway at the site, the arm of a concrete pump unexpectedly collapsed, leading to a disaster.
The collapsed arm of the concrete pump struck Bekir Can Kadaş, who was working in the area. The young worker lost his balance due to the impact and fell into the concrete formwork where pouring was in progress. Following the incident, medical teams arrived at the scene quickly after being notified by fellow workers.
Kadaş, who was severely injured, was rushed to Sivas Numune Hospital by ambulance. Despite all interventions, Kadaş could not be saved and lost his life. The body of Bekir Can Kadaş was transferred to the Sivas Cumhuriyet University Faculty of Medicine Hospital for forensic examination.
