Committed fraud in Eskişehir and Kayseri, arrested in Bursa

On December 31, 2024, Amal Nasserdine filed a report at the Ertuğrul Gazi Police Station, describing the fraud she had fallen victim to.

Stating that the suspect, who introduced himself as a public official, deceived and intimidated her, Nasserdine declared that she had placed 650,000 Lebanese Pounds (300 TL), 20,000 US dollars, 3,000 Canadian dollars, a 65-gram butterfly set, 1 full gold coin, 6 half gold coins, 20 grams of gold bullion, one 8-gram bracelet, one 4-gram bracelet, one 3-gram bracelet, four 21-gram bracelets, and two 22-gram bracelets into a grocery bag and handed them over to the suspect who came to her door, only to realize afterward that she had been defrauded.

Acting on the report, the Fraud Bureau took action. As a result of camera footage analysis at the scene and in the surrounding area, along with technical support provided by the Intelligence Branch, they identified the suspect who had come to Amal Nasserdine's residence and taken the gold jewelry and money as Kenan Hüseyin Mahmud, born in Hama in 2000.

Upon determining that Mahmud had boarded a bus from the İnegöl district to travel to the province of Şanlıurfa, he was apprehended at a checkpoint in Akşehir, Konya, with 650,000 Lebanese Pounds, 6,020 USD, and 15,444 TL belonging to Amal Nasserdine. He was taken into custody in Konya and subsequently brought to Bursa. The jewelry store where the suspect had exchanged the gold he took from Amal was identified, and 3,400 USD that he had left in safekeeping at the jeweler was seized.

Investigations into Kenan Hüseyin Mahmud revealed that he was involved in three separate fraud incidents, one in the province of Eskişehir and two in the province of Kayseri. The money seized from the suspect was returned to Amal Nasserdine.

Following his statement at the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, Kenan Hüseyin Mahmud was referred to the duty magistrate with a request for his arrest, and the court ordered him to be jailed. The suspect was sent to the Bursa E-Type Closed Penal Institution.
