Controversial decision by Mersin Bar Association regarding Narcotics branch
The Mersin Bar Association has issued a statement suspending the assignment of lawyers to the Provincial Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Investigation Branch during nighttime hours.
While teams from the Mersin Provincial Police Department's Narcotics Crimes Investigation Branch continue their efforts in the fight against drugs, a decision from the bar association has drawn attention.
The decision taken by the bar association states that the CMK (Code of Criminal Procedure) assignment system has been closed specifically for the Mersin Narcotics Crimes Investigation Branch between the hours of 23:00 and 06:00.
In a statement released on the bar association's official social media account, it was said, "Due to the negative attitudes and behaviors of the Mersin Narcotics Crimes Investigation Branch towards our colleagues, the CMK assignment system has been closed for the Mersin Narcotics Crimes Investigation Branch only, between the hours of 23:00 and 06:00, until further notice. We present this for the information of our colleagues."
