Couple in Aydın names their child 'Honda'

Muharrem Maden, a motorcycle mechanic living in the Kemer neighborhood, wanted to name their third child after Soichiro Honda, the founder of the automotive company.

With his wife also welcoming the request, Maden named his baby 'Honda'.

Father Muharrem Maden said that he found Japan, which he visited in 2017, to be clean and orderly.

Expressing his admiration for the Japanese people for this reason, Maden said, "I also admired Honda. I used to say, 'If I have a son one day, I will name him Honda,' and I did. We have received very positive reactions from those around us."

Mother Kevser Maden stated that they have been married for 6 years and had previously considered naming their child Honda.

Expressing that she and her husband love the Japanese people and motorcycle brands very much, Maden said, "I also admire Soichiro Honda. My reaction was very positive when my husband suggested it. I hope he will be a good child for the country and the nation. At first, everyone was very surprised and said it was very unusual, but they got used to it."
