Defendant who killed mother of two stands trial

The trial of A.A., who shot and killed Ebru Kekilli, a mother of two, in the middle of the street on Celal Bayar Street in the Demokrasi neighborhood of Kayseri's Melikgazi district on November 26, 2025, has begun. 

The hearing held at the Kayseri 3rd High Criminal Court was attended by the detained defendant A.A. and his lawyer, as well as Ebru Kekilli's relatives and their lawyers. 

Detained defendant A.A. stated that he had gone to speak with Ebru Kekilli, claiming that he had no intention to kill and that he had fired at the ground.

Prosecutor presents opinion

While Ebru Kekilli's relatives demanded that the defendant be punished in the harshest possible way, the prosecutor requested in his opinion that A.A. be sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment.

The court panel adjourned the hearing until June to address missing procedural requirements.
