Defendant who molested two primary school students defends himself: 'From the area near their lips'

M.U., who worked as a cleaner at the Öğretmen Ziya Kılıçözü Primary School in Kırşehir, was arrested and sent to prison on charges of abusing two students at the school, and the individual appeared before the judge at the Kırşehir High Criminal Court.

The defendant M.U. attended the hearing, where the defendant's lawyer and the lawyers for the two victim students were also present, via the SEGBİS method from the Yozgat Boğazlıyan prison where he is being held.

Defending himself in court, the detained defendant M.U. stated that he was guilty and that he should not have kissed the children, requested to be given a community service sentence of planting trees, and said, "My statements were distorted. They were signed without being read to me. They saw me as definitely guilty.

While I was cleaning, the children came and suddenly hugged me. I kissed both girls on the area near their lips," he said.

HE SAT HER ON HIS LAP TO REMOVE GUM STUCK IN HER HAIR

When asked "why he sat the victim child named K.T. on his lap," M.U. stated that he did sit the victim child on his lap but that he did not do it for sexual purposes, saying, "I sat K.T. on my lap to remove the gum stuck in her hair. She stayed on my lap for a minute or two," he said.

In the court where the victim families and children were heard in the presence of a pedagogue, it was decided that the defendant's detention would continue in order to investigate whether the defendant is of sound mind, and the hearing was adjourned to a later date.
