Demonstrations and marches banned for 7 days in Siirt

In a written statement issued by the Siirt Governor's Office, it was stated: "In order to prevent provocative actions that could damage our national unity and solidarity, to ensure national security, public order and safety, to protect the fundamental characteristics of the Republic and the indivisible integrity of the state with its territory and nation, to prevent potential illegal actions and avoid regrettable incidents, and considering the serious indications that public order and safety could be disrupted in a way that would stop or interrupt daily life, and that ensuring the safety of life and property, personal immunity, security regarding disposal, and public welfare would become difficult; with the exception of events deemed appropriate by the governor's and district governor's offices, programs organized by public institutions and organizations, official holidays, official commemoration days, official ceremonies and celebrations, and sports activities, all kinds of actions that can be held in open and closed areas (gatherings, marches, press statements, indoor meetings, hunger strikes, sit-ins, rallies, setting up stands, pitching tents, distributing leaflets/brochures, hanging posters/banners, etc.) have been banned within the provincial and district administrative borders (including the gendarmerie zone) for 7 days, from 00:01 on 03/06/2024 to 23:59 on 09/06/2024, in accordance with Articles 17 and 19 of the Law on Meetings and Demonstrations No. 2911 and Articles 11/A, B, and C of the Provincial Administration Law No. 5442."
