Doctor arrested in Şanlıurfa released
An obstetrician who was arrested by a duty court following the death of a patient who underwent a cesarean section in Şanlıurfa has been released pending trial.
According to the information obtained, the incident occurred on July 14 at the Private Lotus Hospital in Şanlıurfa.
A pregnant woman named Edanur Yaman (25) went to the Private Lotus Hospital to give birth.
The woman, who was taken into surgery by Op. Dr. M.Z.D. to deliver her baby, fell ill.
The woman, who was transferred to the Harran University Faculty of Medicine Hospital, lost her life despite all interventions.
Following a complaint by the deceased woman's family, the doctor, who was detained as part of an investigation conducted by the Şanlıurfa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, was arrested yesterday by the duty court on charges of 'causing death by negligence'.
Released today
The doctor, who was brought before the judge again today, was released under judicial control conditions.
